Sarah Murphy maintains her practice in Canberra at M16 Artspace where she creates her work to exhibit nationally. In 2011, she received her Bachelor of Visual Arts from the School of Art, Australian National University – Major Gold and Silversmithing. She is interested in the concept of transforming traditionally industrial materials to everyday wearables. Her exploration of material and technique is the driving force behind her work. This current body of work uses stainless steel vitreous enamels, both of which have been used for many decades both in the industrial environment and domestically. Sarah uses soft pastel colours with contemporary lines to decorate each piece individually.
