Melanie Hilder

Melanie Hilder is an emerging contemporary jeweller, graduating from Box Hill Institute in 2013, with an Advanced Diploma of Engineering Technology; Specialising in Jewellery. During her time there, Melanie received a scholarship to study in America for three weeks. She had hands on experience in the glass hot shop and ceramics workshop as well as one on one time with Satomi Kawai for jewellery design. She is inspired by the Australian landscape and explores the natural textures and forms found within the flora and fauna that surround her. She captures the delicate and unique features of our native wildlife and explores these shapes and patterns in her jewellery. Melanie hopes to sell her jewellery both nationally and internationally as well as exhibiting her artworks worldwide.
